Professional experience:

  • From 2002 to 2018, he was the first mayor of Wrocław elected directly in 2002 and served four consecutive terms until 2018.
  • He was a researcher at the Catholic University of Lublin (1982–1992) and the University of Wrocław (1989–1994), and a scholarship holder of the Catholic Academic Office in Freiburg. In the 1990s, he founded the Polish branch of Signium International, an international executive search firm. He was also a co-founder of Radio Eska in Wrocław,
  • in 1989, secretary and then chairman of the Wrocław Citizens’ Committee “Solidarity”,
  • a Solidarity activist during martial law,
  • co-organizer of the first Christian Culture Weeks in Wrocław, and chairman of the Adam Mickiewicz Scholarship Society.  He was also active in the scouting movement and served as a member of the Polish Scouting Association’s (ZHP) Supreme Council in the 1980s.

Rafał Dudkiewicz graduated from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology (studies in applied mathematics). He also studied at the Faculty of Christian Philosophy at the Catholic University of Lublin, where he earned a doctorate in formal logic in 1985.
